ELECTRIC BARBARIAN at ‘World Expo’ in CHINA

After the sold out show in Paris at Cité de la Musique it’s a pleasure to announce that the new project ‘The Ghost of Langston Hughes’ will have it's
World Premiere at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.
The performances will be held at the Dutch Culture Center, housed in the recently renovated factory complex ‘800show’ which spans an area of 1400 m².
From June 15 to 18 the musicians of The Ghost of Langston Hughes will curate workshops and presentations, 18 and 19 June the concerts will take place.

Electric Barbarian is the band that Floris Vermeulen initiated in 2000. For almost a decade now they perform their unique mix of high speed live
drum’n bass and jazz improvisation. The band performed in venues all over Europe a.o. :
Banlieues Bleues (Paris),
Lowlands (Biddinghuizen),
Auditorium (Rome) live for Radio Rai3, Cankarjev Dom (Ljubljana),
Paradiso (Amsterdam),
Kunstencentrum Vooruit (Gent),
Taktlos.07 (Zurich)
and Jazz Saalfelden (Austria).
The strong pact the musicians of Electric Barbarian form doesn’t keep them from exploring unknown areas of the musical spectrum. They find a new
challenge in collaborating with people from various musical backgrounds.
Call it a contradiction, but the result remains a unique sound.
